Introduction

This policy on the use of cookies and other tracers applies to all websites published by entities belonging to the Canimex group. Canimex Group sites use cookies for various reasons. In particular, they enable the Canimex Group to understand how users navigate its sites, and to obtain data from which to improve the browsing experience in the future. This page explains what a cookie is, what it’s used for and how to configure it.

What does a cookie do?

An Internet cookie is a small packet of data or a text file. It usually contains the name of a website and a unique user ID. Also known as “cookies”, “computer cookies”, “browser cookies”, “Internet cookies” or “HTTP cookies”, Internet cookies are created and sent by websites and stored on your computer or browser whenever you request information from a site. This cookie file can only be read by its issuer, who can use it, during its period of validity, to recognize the device concerned each time it accesses digital content containing cookies from the issuer. The cookie does not identify you personally, only your device’s browser. When you connect to our sites, a banner is displayed. Subject to your choice, cookies will be stored on your computer, smartphone, tablet, mobile device, etc. The information thus collected may be used by the site consulted or by a third party. You can also delete them from your device at any time. There are several types of cookies and several ways of objecting to them. What is the purpose of the cookies we use?

To help you understand the usefulness of cookies, here’s a list of the different types.

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for browsing our websites and taking advantage of features such as access to secure areas. For example, competition forms could not be provided without cookies.

Performance cookies

These cookies collect information about how you use our websites. For example, the most frequently visited pages and any error messages issued. Cookies do not collect any personally identifiable information. Insofar as all the information collected by these cookies is aggregated, it remains anonymous. These cookies are only intended to improve the operation of our websites. They are also used to measure the traffic and audience associated with our websites, the pages visited and the interactions carried out on our sites during your visit. Deactivating them therefore prevents any collection of information relating to your browsing on the site, as well as the proposal of editorial content tailored to your browsing.

Functionality cookies

These cookies enable our sites to remember the choices you’ve made (such as your username, language preference or location) and provide more accurate, personal features. These cookies can also be used to remember any changes you have made, such as text size or font. They may also be used to provide services you have requested, such as watching a video or leaving a comment on a blog. The information collected by these cookies may be rendered anonymous and cannot track your browsing activity on other sites.

Social network cookies

To enable you to share articles and content with friends and family or comment on them, our sites contain links to social networks (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc.). When you use these sharing buttons, a third-party cookie is installed. How can you express your choice concerning cookies?

You have several options for managing cookies. You can :
1. Define your choices by configuring your web browser (See Appendix A).
2. If these are cookies issued by the Canimex Group, you can follow the procedure described in Appendix B.

Appendix A – Setting up your browser

Most browsers accept cookies by default. However, you can decide to block these Cookies or have your browser warn you when a site tries to implement a Cookie on your terminal. In this context, we inform you that you can set your browser to refuse the implementation of Cookies. To manage cookies and your choices, the configuration of each browser is different. This is described in your browser’s help menu, which will tell you how to modify your cookie preferences.

Appendix B – Making your choices known to the Canimex Group

The Canimex Group has implemented a tool that allows you to manage your consent choices regarding cookies. It can be accessed via the “Cookie settings” link on the banner that appears when you access the sites. Please note that your choice will not prevent ads from being displayed, but will block technologies that tailor ads to your interests.
